When does a growth roadmap become a real decision tool?
A useful growth roadmap does not collect every possible opportunity. It decides what deserves to happen now, what can wait and how the team will know the chosen priority is actually moving.

Why does this matter?
The problem is rarely a lack of ideas
Most teams have more opportunities than they can pursue at once: a new market, a new channel, a new offer or a higher sales target. When all of them sit at the same level in the plan, the roadmap becomes a wish list rather than a tool for choosing.
What should you examine?
A priority needs a reason
Ask three things: what problem does this priority solve, what should change if it works, and what will we delay so it receives enough time and resources? If those answers are unclear, the priority is still a label rather than a decision.
The roadmap should change weekly work
If the roadmap does not help the team reject lower-value work, assign ownership and review a clear indicator, it will not shape execution. Its value is not in the number of slides but in the decisions it makes easier.
When the question becomes practical
When the question becomes practical, we can move it from the article into the business.
