Market Expansion

The market is attractive. But are you ready to enter it?

Market attractiveness is not enough to justify expansion. The harder question is whether the offer, channel, operations and resources are ready to support entry after launch — not just on launch day.

Why does this matter?

Separate opportunity from readiness

A market can be large and relevant while immediate entry is still premature. Market opportunity answers whether potential exists. Readiness asks whether the business can capture that potential in a way it can operate and support.

What should you examine?

Test four things before committing

Test the clarity of the offer in the new market, the channel you will use to reach it, the operating capacity to serve it and the commercial economics that make continuation worthwhile. A weakness in one can change the entire entry model.

Delay can be a good decision

The purpose of a readiness review is not to prove that expansion should happen. Sometimes the better outcome is to change the channel, test the market at a smaller scale or delay entry until a critical element is ready.
